Air Connectivity

At Turismo de Islas Canarias, we recognise that air connectivity is vital to both tourism and the economy of the archipelago. For this reason, we actively support the consolidation and expansion of direct air routes.

To achieve this, we maintain an ongoing dialogue with airlines, sharing relevant information and collaborating closely on the initiatives they propose. We also take part in international forums specialising in air connectivity, where the Canary Islands have on numerous occasions been recognised as the world’s leading destination for route development.

Digitalisation

We drive the digital transformation of the tourism sector in the Canary Islands through the development of a robust and innovative destination platform.

The Digitalisation Programme, based on an open and participatory governance model, aims to implement innovative technological projects through public–public and public–private collaboration, strengthening the destination’s competitiveness, sustainability and resilience.

Its main pillars include:

Technological Innovation

We provide essential business intelligence for all stakeholders in the tourism sector through the collection and analysis of data.

Business Intelligence

We use data collection and analysis to enhance decision-making across the entire sector.

User Experience

We deliver coherent and accessible digital experiences across multiple channels, enhancing visitor engagement at every stage of their journey.

Digital Infrastructure

We develop a flexible and secure cloud-based infrastructure that enables efficient management and collaboration between public and private stakeholders.

Digital Marketing

We implement innovative strategies to increase the visibility of the Canary Islands as a destination, optimising both visitor acquisition and retention.

Training and Capacity Building

We organise workshops to equip tourism professionals with the tools they need to adapt to digital transformation and foster innovation across the sector.

Tourism Intelligence

Our strategy is built around three key objectives aimed at transforming the Canary Islands’ tourism model. In this new cycle, the impact of tourism on the territory, the economy, the environment and society as a whole is fully acknowledged.

The people of the Canary Islands recognise the importance of tourism and its capacity to generate employment, promote social wellbeing, foster environmental commitment and preserve our cultural identity. In response, we embrace the challenge of driving the transformation of the tourism model through a comprehensive approach that underpins our main objectives.
